Memories of a warm autumn afternoon
My sister and I took a leisurely stroll around Regents park on a late autumn afternoon making the most of the warm weather before the cold arrives. Even though I had visited London Zoo in Regents park many times, I had never been to that part of the park. It was a pleasant surprise to see this park right in the middle of the hustle bursle of London and to enjoy the calm and peaceful flow of the lake. There were lots of families enjoying a lazy afternoon on the pedal boats and some just having a picnic or reading a book. There is also a smaller lake with smaller boats for children.
Across the bridge is an open air theatre where you can sit and watch whatever performance is on at the time. Next to the theatre is a small ice-cream kiosk that sells mouth watering ice cream. The only problem is deciding on which flavour to buy. After making our choice we sat down on a bench and savoured every mouthful of it.
The park is so peaceful with beautiful flower beds dotted around. It is a park worth visiting with the family when the weather gets a bit warmer. We left the park after some rest on the grass with such a warm feeling of an afternoon well spent.
